MID-STATES APPRAISAL SERVICES, INC. began in 1983 when Dennis E. Vogan ventured out on his own to develop an agribusiness specialty. With a degree in Business and Economics, from Marymount College of Salina, Kansas, Dennis took the opportunity as it arose for him while employed with Evco Inc., owned by Dean Evans, owner of Evans Grain Company located in the same building. With encouragement from Dean Evans, Dennis began with one appraisal on a grain elevator of Long Pine, Nebraska, owned by Harold Coash.

Dennis took his Real Estate Sales requirements in the late 1970's and completed his Brokerage License requirements in early 1980's. With continued education in the field of real estate appraisal he opened MID-STATES APPRAISAL SERVICES, INC. with the interest of providing quality and professional appraisal services to clients across the country.

Armed with the experience of equipment sales and brokerage of grain elevators and fertilizer plants, Dennis E. Vogan began to develop the appraisal business in 1983 naming it MID-STATES APPRAISAL SERVICES, INC. Acquiring professional designations of IAFAS (Independent Fee Appraiser Senior) with the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers and a CBA (Certified Business Appraiser) with the Institute of Business Appraisers, as well as state certifications in multiple states throughout the United States, the appraisal business began with the experience of one grain elevator and one fertilizer plant. Over the next 27 years, experience has accumulated to more than 1,490 agribusiness appraisals.

With this experience there have been many court challenges to clients. These have included the areas of property tax appeal, estate tax, divorce, and other areas of litigation.
